Pioneer Cup 2010

The newly created Juventus team shows great promise in their first official game played July 21, 2010.

The U16 La Roca team is ranked #1 in Utah, and they were Juventus first match up.

Juventus lost the match 5 -2, but had a lot of great moments.

Next match against Firebirds was a physical game that Juventus came back from being down 1-0 to win 2-1 with 30 seconds left in a thrilling finish.

Meanwhile La Roca tied their game 2-2 against USA, ranked 7th in Utah, and La Roca wins 3-1 against Firebirds.

Last game before playoffs for Juventus was against USA. Juventus needed a win to get them into the championship game against La Roca. Juventus scores early, and the team played a beautiful game beating USA 4-0!

Championship game. Juventus was down a goal very early in the game, and by half the score was 4-0. Juventus did not back down even with some less than sportsman like play from La Roca. Juventus won the 2nd half 1-0 with the final score of 4-1 for La Roca.

United at last

The Cache Valley area has some very talented boy soccer players that are now in the U-16 age group. These players have been on various teams over the years, but until now they have never played on the same team.

Shawn Casey worked with players, coaches, and administrators to make this possible.

Curt Phillips and Shawn have combined their knowledge of soccer and coaching, and together are leading this newly formed team.
